Add a note to the README about potentially needing to use a pre-release install of the extension for older versions

All all odd-numbered releases (and thus everything prior to `2024.0.0`) were released as a pre-release. As such, if you didn't know how the release numbers worked then you may not know you need to opt into pre-releases to get any release older than `2024.0.0`.
