Current behavior
When using the bulk editing modal for things like category and level, where you can choose to apply a metatdata label to both a folder and all of its descendants, it is easy to miss the checkbox when working quickly (or just forget about it). Based on the scenario we were working on with a few team members (tagging channels manually to support the 0.18 release of Kolibri -which makes use of metadata) - everyone at one point or another forgot to click the checkbox.
Desired behavior
The checkbox of applying the label to the descendant nodes should be selected by default, and then the user can choose to unselect. We think this will be the more common scenario - that most of the time they would want to apply the label to all of the children - so this is a reasonable default.
Value add
Saving time and preventing errors (assuming that the label was applied to children, when it wasn't)
Possible tradeoffs
It's possible we may hear feedback that this really isn't the more common scenario and shouldn't be the default.
