Freenode isn't accurate.
This needs updating as well, but I think it would be ideal to add a layer of indirection here. Lets just link to something like https://github.com/ipfs/ipfs and we keep that updated.

I think a key thing here is that this release was really about setting up a first foundation to "launch" from.
Maybe something like
[email protected]
is rocketing forward with major improvements to its foundations along with many small bug fixes and performance improvements!

I reviewed https://ipfs-blog-staging.on.fleek.co/ and the js-ipfs and js-libp2p items look good to me.
