-j1 hangs

Invoking hls with -j1 leads to an unresponsive IDE on both the command line and when using an editor. There should be a warning at least that -j1 isn't supported I think.

This is a known issue (#727) and I'd rather see it fixed than documented

The issue hasn't been fixed for half year, so I guess, as a quick(er) workaround, adding documentation (or warning message) is not so bad
