Pytest has changed how they process regex matches for empty strings.
The failing tests are not OUR tests, they are upstream tests in the pandas dependency that we execute as compliance tests.

To resolve this, we could

• issue a PR to pandas (note there is already a change to this code in main that has not been released to any recent releases that may/or may not fix this issue)
• overwrite the 9 tests locally
• skip the tests completely

I am looking at these options.
