In which we beseech a gopher luminary to lend us her brilliance #565

Brilliant post, but what exactly are you asking for here? I'd love to contribute... but how exactly? |
@jakeHL thanks! 😄 I'm asking @ashleymcnamara to do some more gopher-y graphic design for dep. Kind of a one-person job, I think (though if there's any help she could use, then by all means 😄 ) That said, if other folks want to put together some gopher pkg mgmt-related art, I would love to incorporate whatever we can! 🎉 |
Aha! It all makes sense now! It's all great artwork so I can see why you'd want that specifically! :) |
coming, coming, tomorrow, I promise!

To the most illustrious @ashleymcnamara,
It is my most fervent of hopes that this missive finds you happy, healthy, and in good cheer! The community of Go is large, and the suns of FLOSS have, in recent years, shone most fortuitously on our lands; I hope that the warmth and light of that radiance has provided you joy and succor, wherever this letter should find you.
I write to you from a distant corner of the gopher homeland, one that is, tragically, mostly untouched by such rays: the Marshes of Dependency Management. Long have our dear gophers struggled while traversing this loathsome territory, teeming as it is with hidden sinkholes, false pathways, and voracious bugs.
But I bear good tidings! After years of efforts by many of the most stalwart among us to tame this downright contumacious fen, a great band has assembled under a single banner. Together, unified in purpose and bearing the experience of our predecessors, we stand a fighting chance of ridding gopherdom of this blight!
Amongst gopherfolk, your art has passed into legend. (Word of your prowess has even reached us here, deep in our quagmire!) You have helped armor us for battle, provided shade for the world-weary, and breathed life into, dare I say, the very Platonic ideal of gopher existence. Verily, absent your brush, we would scarcely even know ourselves.
Today, I must beseech your aid. Our quest to excise the most infernal aspects of these hellish Dependency Management wilds goes well; with each passing day, our numbers grow and commitment deepens. But something is amiss. Though so many of us have rallied together under this common standard, that standard is...well, lackluster. Pedestrian. Bare. It fails to reflect the vitality or diligence of the plethora of gophers who have dedicated themselves to this cause.
I write to you in the sincerest hope that you might impart our efforts with some artwork, some sigil, with which to emblazon our standard - one that is commensurate with the efforts of so many gophers to rid our entire community of this scourge, once and for all.
Humbly yours,
@sdboyer
