Compared with code in software development, data tend not to be as precisely identified because data versioning is rarely or only coarsely practiced. Scientific computation is not reproducible enough, because data provenance, the information of how a digital file came to be, is often incomplete and rarely automatically captured. Last but not least, in the absence of standardized data packages, there is no uniform way to declare actionable data dependencies and derivative relationships between inputs and outputs of a computation. JZFS aims to solve these issues by providing streamlined, transparent management of code, data, computing environments, and their relationship. This thread is the kick-off for the project showcase phase of FIL-RetroPGF-3.
Projects that have shown significant impact from November 2024 to September 2025 (inclusive) are invited to participate in this transparent, community-driven process. Whether you've been building infrastructure, developing tools, conducting research, or supporting the ecosystem in other ways, this is your opportunity to gain recognition and funding for your contributions.
Through the generous support of round donors Protocol Labs, Filecoin Foundation and LotusPond Association, there is a record breaking 585,000 FIL allocated to the round.
Overview of Timelines
This opening phase provides projects with a platform to showcase their impact on the Filecoin ecosystem and receive early feedback from the community. If you've been building in the Filecoin space over the past year, this is your moment to highlight your accomplishments.
Anyone may showcase their project for FIL-RetroPGF-3! Specific instructions for how to showcase are listed below.
