Assistance with Academic Verification Without Institutional Email - Brazilian student

Hello, GitHub Education Community!

I’m having difficulties completing my student verification for GitHub Education, and I would greatly appreciate your help.

I am a student at UniRios (Centro Universitário do Rio São Francisco), enrolled in the Analysis and Systems Development program (distance learning). My institution does not provide academic emails with its own domain, and my official academic email is my personal Gmail account ([email protected]). Despite this, I have official documents that confirm my enrollment, such as a declaration from the Academic Secretariat and my educational service contract.

I have tried submitting these documents multiple times, but my applications have been rejected with messages indicating that I need an academic email or that my documents are not sufficient. I have followed all instructions provided, including using my exact full name as it appears in both my documents and my GitHub account, and I’ve submitted high-quality photos of the documents. However, my applications continue to be denied.

I’m wondering if anyone here has faced a similar issue and how they managed to resolve it. I would also appreciate any suggestions to improve my chances of approval.

Estou com dificuldades para completar a verificação de estudante no GitHub Education, e gostaria muito da ajuda de vocês.

Eu estudo no UniRios (Centro Universitário do Rio São Francisco), onde estou matriculado no curso de Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas (EAD). A instituição não fornece emails acadêmicos com o domínio próprio para alunos, e o meu email institucional é o meu Gmail pessoal ([email protected]). Apesar disso, tenho documentos oficiais que comprovam minha matrícula, como a declaração emitida pela Secretaria Acadêmica da faculdade e meu contrato de prestação de serviços educacionais.

Já tentei enviar esses documentos várias vezes, mas minha aplicação tem sido rejeitada com mensagens indicando que preciso de um email acadêmico ou que meus documentos não estão adequados. Segui todas as instruções fornecidas, incluindo o uso de meu nome completo e exato conforme aparece nos meus documentos e no GitHub, além de ter enviado fotos de alta qualidade dos documentos. No entanto, continuo recebendo rejeições.

Gostaria de saber se alguém aqui enfrentou um problema semelhante e como conseguiu resolver. Também estou aberto a sugestões para melhorar minhas chances de aceitação.

If your institution doesn’t provide an academic email, GitHub Education usually accepts official documents like an enrollment certificate. Since your applications were rejected, try these steps:

1. Ensure your documents clearly show your full name, institution, and enrollment date.

2. Submit in English (if possible) to improve readability.

3. Contact GitHub Education Support directly here and explain your situation.

Others in similar cases have had success after resubmitting with clearer documentation. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response! I will try to resubmit my documents with better readability. However, the application page only allows photo submissions and doesn’t accept file uploads, which makes it harder to ensure high quality. My phone camera isn’t the best, but I will do my best to improve the clarity.

Additionally, I can try translating my documents into English and submitting them again. That said, I have already tried submitting all documents in the best way possible, but my applications keep getting rejected.

As for the support ticket, I actually opened one today and I’m waiting for a response.
