Also, are you trying to set the custom domain for your user/organization site or for a specific project repository?

Have you never used this domain on GitHub? Even without org, probably on your main account. Have you checked this? In settings (of your account) -> pages.

This error is because your domain is already in use. Do you read the suggested documentation link?

Yes, I checked the settings of my account, and I don't have any domain configuration. I previously tried to use it with an organization, but I removed the custom domain from my organization and deleted it. I read the suggested documentation but didn't find any solution. I will keep searching for it.
