We will implement this one with an experimental flag in order to check the limits and if such a feature is feasible.

Hi @michaelstaib
What's the current status of this feature? This issue is marked as completed but I'm unable to use that new syntax. Do I need to enable it explicitly somehow?

I think it was closed as "not planned".
Looking at the original spec proposal you can see that it hasn't advanced out of Stage 0 yet. I also don't think it will end up in the official spec, i.e. Hot Chocolate will not implement it.

There are some tools like graphql-lodash that implement what you're looking for using directives.
Hot Chocolate also has a proposal for such a solution and implementation has started here: #4068
