I've been assisting (pretty minimally) in the migration from aioredis 1.3.1 to aioredis 2.0. We're planning on a major release out of beta soon (by the looks of it September), so gear up as we begin the migration process here as well, dropping aioredis 1.3.1 support completely.

We just published aioredis 2.0.0 Will try to get a migration going soon.

Holding off for now since:

  • Django hasn't merged my pr for async cache yet (I also haven't updated it in awhile and we still can't figure out the naming)
  • 2.0.0 is actually a little unstable when it comes to closing connections. Figuring out the solution now.
